Create and publish an event

From a draft to a live event page, and how to share it.

Create the event

  1. Go to Events and select New event.
  2. Enter the Event name and add a Banner image.
  3. Choose the Event type and, if you like, a Topic (optional). The topic helps the marketplace recommend your event.
  4. Set Starts, Ends and the Event timezone. Times are shown to attendees in the event's own timezone.
  5. Choose the Event format: In-person, Virtual or Hybrid. Add the venue for in-person, the platform and link for virtual, or both for hybrid.
  6. Write the Description and select Create event. It starts as a draft only you can see.

Add the details

Each event has its own tabs. The ones most events need:

  • Tickets: what people can buy or register for.
  • Registration setup: questions for attendees, and whether you approve registrations first.
  • Speakers, Agenda, Gallery and Downloads: what the event page shows.
  • Details: change anything you entered when creating the event.

Publish it

  1. Open the Promotion tab. The checklist shows what's ready: a banner image is required, tickets are recommended.
  2. Select Publish now, or Schedule to pick a time. A scheduled event stays a draft until then.
  3. Once live, the same tab gives you the event link, share buttons and a QR code to print.

You can Unpublish at any time from the Promotion tab.

Search listing (Marketplace events)

On the Promotion tab, Search listing sets the title and description search engines are given for your event's page. Leave them empty to use the event name and the start of your description.

Search engines decide whether and where a page appears. Creve describes your event accurately; it can't promise a position.
